Note from the Artist
I have a huge farmers water trough in my garden. Two Koi carp live in there. In the summer the surface is covered in beautiful waterlilies, dragonflies and bees. This Lino cut is a reflection of the movement, colour and joy that my fish bring me. It has been made from three separate Lino plates cut, inked and pressed on to the same piece of paper.
Linocut is a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. The design is cut with V-shaped chisels. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller and then impressed onto paper with a printing press.
This original hand carved, inked and pressed print is one of 20. each one will be different.
